How much space do I need?
A standard padel court footprint is 20m × 10m. You’ll also need clearance around the court for access and maintenance — we recommend a minimum of 2m on each side. Total site area: approximately 24m × 14m.
Do I need planning permission at home?
Residential courts are more likely to require planning permission than commercial ones, particularly for courts over 3m in height or in sensitive locations (Green Belt, Conservation Areas, AONB). We’ll advise after the site survey and can help with documentation if required.
Can the court be installed in a garden?
Yes, provided there’s sufficient space and the ground conditions are suitable. We’ve installed courts on sloped ground (requiring levelling), clay soil (requiring improved drainage), and established gardens where access for machinery was limited. We’ve seen it all.
Will it add value to my property?
A well-designed padel court is increasingly seen as a premium amenity in the UK residential market, comparable to a tennis court or indoor pool. The actual uplift depends on location and buyer profile — but demand for padel is growing fast.
